Additional Blood Drives have also been successful, and we (ATMSHBBC) have won 3 awards from the Community Blood Centers of South Florida for our efforts. Additionally we have raised several thousand dollars in scholarships for our students. In generally, there will be a blood drive every 8 weeks starting from the first week of school. You can find them scheduled on the school calendar.

Holocaust Awareness - On 3/4/2010 I received an email from my aunt with details about a Polish Catholic woman who saved thousands of Jewish children from death during the Holocaust. Given that my parents are survivors, I tend to think I am well informed, but I had not heard of her, but after some research I discovered that the Irena Sender story, as portrayed in the email was true. Rather than forward the email, which would, I'm sure, be deleted by most, I'm posting a link to the story here, where it will remain part of my web pages.
