OK. I do like the sound of my own voice and sharing. For
anyone who is interested, I’ve posted a second blog/podcast/webcast.
This one is on books and what I'm reading. It can be accessed
through the same "Casts" webpage.
Update September 26, 2023 (only a week-OK, 8 days who is counting!)
So...I did something.
A "cast" about how I ended up with a 1980 Miami Herald article.
I've set it up as a blog, a podcast and a webcast so everyone can
be "happy."
Update-September 18, 2023 (Wow, from updating this page multiple times a week to 1/almost 2 years)
I
have been digitizing my mother's old photo albums (a large task-she has
hundreds of albums with thousands of pictures). In an album from 1980
there was a newspaper clipping from an adventure I participated in way
back when. I thought I'd include it here. Sorry for the size issue, but, this way it is readable.
Also, I still get the analytics from this page and see that a few people check it each week. Weird, but, true. I have thought about doing a "blog" hosted on this page, but, I'm not sure if anyone would care to read/listen to it.
So, I'm collecting information. If
you would be interested in a blog (you have to read it), a podcast (you
listen to me pontificate) or a vlog (you get to watch me pontificate)
drop me a line at drg.atm@gmail.com Let me know what you would spend time on (text/audio/video) as well as freqnency and length. If there is a groundswell of interest I may actually do something. DrG
As of June 10, 2021, I am retired.
Don't ask what am I doing.
The answer will be, after 32 years as a teacher, as little as possible.
Obviously, this web page will only be sporatically updated.
In
light of all the conspiracy theories about the CoVid vaccines and
challenges to truth (with a lower case "t") I have been thinking about
ideas in general and what we mean by truth. That has led me to think
about challenges to the orthodoxy (in whatever form) and from there to
banned ideas. I'll update the list as I continue to think....
If you want to keep in touch, I can be found on Facebook or reached via email drg.atm@gmail.com or, you can leave a SMS text or voice message at 305 349 3740

1982 my father, Joseph Gottfried, gave a speech to the West Palm Beach
Rotary Club about propaganda. His friend and colleague, who was there
at the time, recently forwarded a copy of the speech to my mother,
saying it seemed prophetic. I've attached it here. JG-Propaganda ]

Memorium - My favorite musician (whose
music you will hear alot in class) is a South African, Johnny Clegg. I
should say, was a South African, since he died on Tuesday 7/16/2019. Go
to YouTube and listen to some of his music. Search the Internet for his
story. A truely great man. RIP Dr. G.
Funds for college...Depending
on where you go, and what you do, you can raise some extra scholarship
dollars from Raise.me Really,
it works. I have had several students get significant funding through
them.

an interesting video about this history on YouTube. The Other History

Recommendations:
Reminder: For any type of letter of
recommendation it is
YOUR responsibility to provide me (or whomever is writing the letter)
an
envelope, and if you want the teacher to mail it the envelope needs to
be
addressed and stamped.
Since
I will not be in any classroom, if you want a college recommendation
2021-2022, you will need to email me, and we will have to have an
"interview."

Holocaust
Awareness - On
3/4/2010 I received an email from my aunt with details about a Polish
Catholic woman who saved thousands of Jewish children from death during
the Holocaust. Given that my parents are survivors, I tend to think I
am well informed, but I had not heard of her, but after some research I
discovered that the Irena Sender story, as portrayed in the email was
true. Rather than forward the email, which would, I'm sure, be deleted
by most, I'm posting a link to the story here, where it will remain
part of my web pages.
If you encounter a dead
link please let
me know so I can fix it-I know VERY few will make it this far down,
but, one of the hosts I have used for years recently closed its
servers. It is highly likely there are dead links. Please help me by
letting me know.
