AP Bio 2009-2010

Web reading assignments

This year I plan on utilizing the web site provided by Pearson Publishing to a much greater degree than in the past.

To that end, you will each have to sign on to the Pearson site for an account and then "join" the AP bio class.

To do those things you need "magic" codes which I will provide (I can't post them to a WWW page).

Once we are all signed up for the web site you will be required to read the chapters AHEAD of the lectures and to submit the "self-test" prior to class.

Each chapter's "self-test" is only 10 questions. I can get your best, your latest score, or your first score. As long as you don't abuse me, we'll work from the best score.

These "self-tests" will be counted as grades in the gradebook, with the total of all the "self-tests" being 10% or less of your marking period grade.

They will NOT be accepted late. The computer provides me with dates and times, so don't bother with excuses.

If I am lecturing on chapter 14 on Tuesday starting 3rd period, you will have to enter your answers by Tuesday morning. No excuses. You can read ahead.

[Under special circumstances - hospitalization- I might consider allowing you to play "catch-up." This will be on a case-by-case basis.]
